Enlightened rebrands, expands light ice cream lineup

NEW YORK — Frozen dessert brand Enlightened is expanding its lineup of light ice cream and is rolling out refreshed packaging across its portfolio of pints, bars, sundae cones and sugar-free syrups.

Four new flavors include Kookie Dough, a blue vanilla-flavored ice cream with chunks of chocolate chip cookie dough and chocolate sandwich cookie pieces; Chocolate P.B. Crunch, which has chocolate ice cream blended with a peanut butter swirl and fudge-covered peanuts; Coffee Toffee, featuring coffee-flavored ice cream with fudge-covered toffee pieces; and Chocolate Caramel Pecan Crunch, a chocolate ice cream with roasted pecan pieces and a caramel swirl.

A serving contains 130 calories and 6 to 9 grams of sugar, which compares to 33 grams of sugar in a serving of regular ice cream, according to the company. The ice cream is sweetened with a blend of allulose, erythritol, cane sugar and monk fruit extract.

The products are available online at eatenlightened.com and in grocery stores nationwide.

“We love to push the boundaries with indulgence and nutrition to make you question how something so delicious could be so low in sugar, and I think we accomplished that with these new flavors,” said Michael Shoretz, founder and chief executive officer of Beyond Better Foods, parent company of Enlightened.

The brand’s new packaging design features “vibrant colors and whimsical illustrations” to stand out on shelf and showcase its “abundant mix-ins and flavors,” according to the company.

“The superior flavors and mix-ins in our desserts are what keep our fans coming back, so we chose to emphasize those aspects while maintaining a strong and identifiable look across all of our product lines,” Mr. Shoretz said.
